The first final between Universitario and Alianza Lima ended in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Alex Valera for the Íntimos and Gabriel Costa for the U. The Lima side will be looking to won their third consecutive Liga 1, while the U will be seeking their first title in nine years.
Alianza Lima have been in fine form in the Apertura, finishing top of the standings with 42 points from 14 wins and four losses. The reigning Peruvian champions have reached the final for the fifth time in the last six editions of La Liga 1. They won the finals in 2017, 2021 and 2022, losing out in 2018 and 2019. Today the Íntimos will be looking to win the championship for the third time in front of their home crowd.
Universitario finished in the top spot of the Clausura standings with 39 points, thanks to 11 wins, six draws and just one defeat in 18 games. The U are on a ten-match unbeaten run and will aim to win the final at Alianza Lima's ground. The Cremas won their last title in 2013 and this will be their second final since then. The previous one was in 2020, when they lost to Sporting Cristal.
